In pursuance of Lord Ripon's Des-

-patch No. 36 of the 13th. February, 1895, which approved

of the grant to the Hongkong Golf Club (now the Royal

Hongkong Golf Club) of a site for the erection of a Club

House at the Wongneichong Recreation Ground, a Crown Lease

for 25 years from the 26th. March, 1895, at a rent of $1 a

year was granted to three gentlemen as trustees for the

Golf Club.

An extension of the original

building was sanctioned in 1899, but no sanction has been

given to an encroachment which has been made by the Club

by the erection of a railing.

As the Golf Club is again enlarg-

-ing its Club House, as only one of the original trustees

is resident in the Colony, and as the Club desires to
